Master Class with Yann Vasnier
Behind the Chype Fragrances
To celebrate the launch of the Chypre Collection, we hosted our first-ever masterclass with perfumer Yann Vasnier at NONFICTION Daikanyama in Tokyo.

Vasnier, who created DEW & LIGHT and TEARS IN RAIN, introduced two fragrances that offer a new interpretation of the Chypre fragrance family, and shared with attendees his delicate creative process behind each scent — from individual ingredients to the art of composition. Inspired by the vitality of spring, the Chypre Collection reimagines the classic Chypre structure with a contemporary sensibility.

Accompanied by wagashi desserts inspired by the notes of each fragrance, the masterclass was a unique opportunity to experience fragrance, seasonality, and craftsmanship with all five senses.

DEW & LIGHT Eau de Parfum
PEONY | PEAR | WHITE MOSS | AKIGALAWOOD
The translucent petals of a peony unfold, awakened by the gentle, persuasive touch of morning dew. Soft floral notes leave a sheer, refreshing trail on the skin. White moss brings a dry, crisp clarity, while the earthy undertones of Akigalawood create a refined base. Light and balanced, this fragrance is a modern floral chypre defined by purity, vitality, and timeless elegance.

TEARS IN RAIN Eau de Parfum
OAKWOOD | GERANIUM | BERGAMOT | PATCHOULI
Clear citrus notes of bergamot rise through the air and are joined by the floral breeze of geranium. Damp earth holds the memory of rain, releasing its gentle warmth. Forest woods—oakwood, cedar, fir, and maple—intertwine with patchouli and oakmoss, settling into a grounded, composed finish, reminiscent of a serene walk through a quiet forest after the storm.
